Professor Liang’s research mainly focuses on the application of assisted reproductive technology and reproductive endocrine research. She has published more than 150 academic papers in domestic and international journals. She is the Editor-in-chief of the book Clinical Technology of Assisted Reproduction - Practice and Improvement published by People's Health Publishing House; she also participated in the compilation of the first and second editions of the book Chinese Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the major leader for more than 30 funding, funded by both national and provincial natural science foundations and health department funders. As the chief scientist, she has won the key research and development plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China establishing safety research of effective human oocyte in vitro maturation optimization system and its clinical application ". She has participated in the formulation of a national consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperprolactinemia and amenorrhea. Using in vitro mature oocyte culture technology, she pioneered the procedure of the first birth of a baby born via immature egg cultured in vitro (IVM technology) in Guangdong Province in 2002. She established the first fertility preservation bank in South China in 2016. In 2017, she implemented the technology of "injection of autologous bone marrow cell mitochondria into oocytes" for patients with primary infertility. The patient successfully delivered a healthy baby, the first case in the world. In 2021, she established the Guangdong Fertility Preservation Engineering Technology Research Center. She pioneered the development of prepubertal ovarian tissue freezing and autologous intraperitoneal transplantation technology, as well as fertility preservation technology for oocytes matured in vitro for patients with ovarian cancer.
